About Us...

The Moody Cow, is a popular inn with both tourists and locals alike - as well as attracting regular visitors from nearby Hereford, Gloucester, Monmouth, Ledbury and the Forest of Dean. People return time and time again to this lovely country pub and restaurant to savour freshly prepared home cooked food.
Chef/proprietor James Lloyd and his wife Debbie run the business with their carefully hand selected team that has succeeded by constantly and consistently providing their customers with a highly professional but also very friendly service.
The Fresco dining room has a bistro style about it or maybe the barn conversion restaurant is more what you are looking for. If you’re after more informality of course you can eat in the bar. It’s the same menu wherever you choose. There’s even a collection of squashy sofas to sink into arranged around a roaring double-sided wood-burning stove for those chilly winter days.
There’s a great selection of beers from local, small and international breweries and wines from around the world but the emphasis is clearly on the food. James uses only the very best, freshest ingredients which incorporates local produce and homegrown herbs. All ingredients are then carefully prepared to produce the most mouthwatering dishes you’ll find in South Herefordshire.
What’s unusual and special about the Moody Cow is that the entire menu from the soup at the beginning, stocks in sauces, right through to the ice cream at the end is made on the premises and that even includes the bread that accompanies your meal! As each dish is cooked to order, the vast majority can be tailored to suit dietary needs or indeed personal likes and dislikes.
So whatever the occasion, whether it be a sandwich at lunchtime made on homemade bead, a romantic meal for two or a more formal affair for larger numbers, The Moody Cow is on hand to help you.
