About Us...

Welcome to The Royal Hotel, the face of Ross-on-Wye and the gateway between Wales and England.

A very friendly and warm welcome awaits you at this majestic, beautiful hotel dating back to 1837.

Refurbishment work completed in December 2006 has given the building a new lease of life. We are now access-friendly into our restaurant and bar.

Our 42 en-suite bedrooms range from romantic feature rooms, with spectacular views to character filled single rooms in the old stable block. All rooms have televisions, direct dial telephones, hair dryer and a hospitality tray. We offer leisure breaks, activity breaks, romantic get-a-ways, family outings, wedding packages and corporate rates.

We have a choice of three rooms for your wedding, meeting, conference or function. We provide the facilities and attentive service needed to ensure that your meeting, conference or private function runs like clockwork.

A member of our banqueting team will take personal control of all the organisational details for your wedding. We can arrange your civil ceremony, your reception, your accommodation, your every need.

We have two spectacular dining areas to satisfy most appetites. Barrett's Restaurant offers a more formal dining experience in our Grand restaurant with chandeliers, table service, subdued lighting and soft music. Or choose to relax and unwind in the Riverview bar or on the terrace whilst taking in the breath taking views of the River Wye and the surrounding hills and valley (we have mentioned the views).

Whichever setting you choose, our team of chefs will delight with their culinary skills. Our Head Chef has over 30 years experience and serves only good wholesome English dishes.
